The UW-Fox Valley Student Government is in charge of allocating up to $280,000 to student clubs and organization annually. It meets every Tuesday at 12:05 in room 1229 and discusses what will go on their weekly agenda. These meetings are open to everyone and students are encouraged to go.
Habitat for Humanity tried to recruit some students through the clubs and activities for their building projects. They expressed that no building experience is required, and all student are welcome to join. The job would be helping senior builders help build houses in the area for those who can afford them. This is a great chance to learn some skills in construction and make a lasting impact in the community. More information can be found on the Fox Cities Habitat for Humanity website.
The Student Government also went over their lunch with the regent and went over how the day’s proceedings. They discussed the tour to the regent. They intended to make sure to demonstrate how important the clubs and activities are by showing them all the trophies, proving how dedicated all the students are to them. They also intended to describe how important the tutoring labs are and what they mean to the students.
Student Government and Campus Activities Board (CAB) will be hosting a spring semi-formal dance on April 14. Tickets will go on sale March 16 and will be $10 each. Tickets will be sold during the lunch hour in the Solution Center. Those interested in going will have to have a student ID ready when purchasing tickets. The theme of the dance is Hollywood Glamour.
The Student Government also went over the upcoming election. Students are running for president, treasurer, communications director and senator positions. Applications can be dropped off in the Student Government office (room 1216) until April 12 at noon. Students can begin voting on April 17.
